{"id":27,"date":"2026-10-25T16:19:18","date_gmt":"2026-10-25T20:19:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tenders.gy\/news\/?p=27"},"modified":"2026-10-25T16:20:07","modified_gmt":"2026-10-25T20:20:07","slug":"sod-turned-for-557-56m-neurological-rehabilitation-centre-at-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tenders.gy\/news\/sod-turned-for-557-56m-neurological-rehabilitation-centre-at-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"Sod turned for $557.56M neurological rehabilitation centre at Industry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/tenders.gy\/buyer\/ministry-of-health\">Ministry of Health<\/a> has turned the sod for the National Neurological Rehabilitation Centre at Industry, East Coast Demerara, advancing a project intended to expand specialised care for people living with neurological conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The construction contract, valued at <strong>GYD 557.56 million<\/strong>, was awarded to <a href=\"https:\/\/tenders.gy\/supplier\/digital-design-construction-logistics-supplies-inc-318f465f10\">Digital Design Construction, Logistics &amp; Supplies Inc.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony attended the ceremony alongside Dr Ariane Mangar, Director of Rehabilitation and Disability Services, and other ministry officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Expected to be completed and commissioned by the end of 2027, the outpatient facility will support people recovering from strokes and those living with conditions including Parkinson\u2019s disease and multiple sclerosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Planned services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, medical support and psychosocial care. The centre is intended to help patients improve their mobility, communication and ability to manage everyday activities, while supporting families and caregivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is also expected to work alongside regional rehabilitation services, providing access to specialised assessment and treatment while allowing patients to continue receiving care closer to home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project was awarded on <strong>August 3, 2026<\/strong>, under reference <strong>444\/2026\/47<\/strong> and is listed on tenders.gy as <a href=\"https:\/\/tenders.gy\/tender\/25331010\">Construction of National Neurological Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The July 9 bid opening listed 11 participants. Digital Design submitted the lowest disclosed price, with its GYD 557.56 million bid matching the subsequent award value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next-lowest recorded offer came from <a href=\"https:\/\/tenders.gy\/supplier\/kd-contracting-services-2a0dd41aca\">K&amp;D Contracting Services<\/a> at <strong>GYD 559.50 million<\/strong>, a difference of GYD 1.94 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other bids included <strong>GYD 576.64 million<\/strong> from <a href=\"https:\/\/tenders.gy\/supplier\/navin-sons-construction-0916122169\">Navin &amp; Son\u2019s Construction<\/a>, <strong>GYD 585.82 million<\/strong> from <a href=\"https:\/\/tenders.gy\/supplier\/karnassa-investment-inc-b0f022600e\">Karnassa Investment Inc.<\/a>, and <strong>GYD 597.68 million<\/strong> from <a href=\"https:\/\/tenders.gy\/supplier\/dundas-construction-inc-6665554a4c\">Dundas Construction Inc.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/tenders.gy\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/rehab2-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tenders.gy\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/rehab2-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/tenders.gy\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/rehab2-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/tenders.gy\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/rehab2-767x511.jpeg 767w, https:\/\/tenders.gy\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/rehab2-1536x1024.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/tenders.gy\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/rehab2.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The neurological centre is the largest award in Digital Design\u2019s currently captured history on tenders.gy. Its supplier profile records <strong>nine published awards totalling approximately GYD 1.10 billion<\/strong>, dated between June 2025 and August 2026.
